Former director and curator of the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation CIFO, Miami. From 2005 until 2011, Fuenmayor has served as Director and Chief Curator of the Periférico Carcas/ Arte Contemporáneo exhibition space in Caracas, Venezuela where he has realized over 30 exhibitions. In 2002 and 2006 he organized symposia on current topics and considerations in the realm of curating sponsored by Fundación Mercantil. In 2004 he was the head researcher for the Museo Alejandro Otero, Caracas. His recent curatorial contributions include: Cuarta Pared (González-Torres, Fernández, Alfredo Jaar, David Lamelas), Museo del Oeste, 1995; Cuarto de Demostraciones, Casa ideal, which traveled to through Caracas, New York, Antwerp and Chicago, 2001-2002; Jump Cuts. Arte Contemporáneo Venezolano. Colección Mercantil, which traveled to Americas Society, New York (2005) and CIFO, Miami (2007); Uno a la vez.
